Mary Fowler, 93, of Big Spring, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel, with Rev. Herb McPherson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born September 23, 1917 in Pilot Point, Denton County, Texas to Lillie and Edward Riney.

She graduated from Pilot Point High School in 1936.

She married J. D. Fowler on November 25, 1936 in Sherman, Texas. He died December 22, 1965.

She had worked at Anthony's and later made custom draperies at Good Housekeeping.

She had been a resident of Big Spring since 1954.

She attended Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Sue McPherson and her husband Herb of Big Spring; five grandchildren: Belle Schooler and her husband Bruce, Jan Vela, of Big Spring, Carol Eng and her husband Ron of Midland, Anthony Dilday and his wife Jamie of Arlington, and Mark Dilday and his wife Jodie of Fayetteville, Arkansas; 17 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by on son John Ray Fowler and and infant daughter Betty Lou Fowler; two infant grandchildren: Joe Don McPherson and Marilyn Kay McPherson.

Great grandsons will serve as pallbearers: John Nalley, Josh Nalley, Ryan Vela, Jason Vela, Alex Eng and Isaac Eng. Honorary pallbearers will be: Micah Nalley, Nathan Nalley, Robert Barlow, Chad Harris, Zac Vela, Jocob Dilday and Ethan Dilday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to one of the following: Calvary Baptist Church, Big Spring, TX; Hospitality House, Big Spring, TX or Crossroads Baptist Association, Big Spring, TX.
