The nickname "Tim" came from the Charles Dickens novel "A Christmas Carol".  Dad was very small at birth so his mother gave him the name "Tiny Tim".  But at 6' 2" tall, he lost the "Tiny" and was known as Tim throughout his life.

McELROY FRANCIS BARRON, 80. Born Aug. 27, 1930 in Philadelphia PA.  Died Sept. 21, 2010 in Atlanta GA.  Tim attended Episcopal Academy and The Hill School and graduated in 1954 from Penn Univ, a member of Zeta Psi Fraternity.  Served in the Air Force, achieved Captain in AF Reserves.  Tim loved horseback riding, technology, and word-play.  Laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia."
