Mr. Compton, 73, of Ashland, VA, died May 10, 2011. He was a retired insurance adjuster for Crawford & Co. He was a member of the Barker Family Band.

He is also survived by his three daughters, twins, Debbie Flynn, Sandston & Donna Stevens, Glen Allen, and Dorothy Cox of Ashland; grandchildren, Justin & Angie Lane, Sarah Stevens, Holly & Natalie Cox; son-in-law, Tex Flynn; great-granddaughter, Kaylynn Lane.
Interment followed funeral services conducted Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, Ashland, VA.
