Vern D. Ackerman

Vern D. Ackerman, 75, Vermillion, died Monday Nov. 4, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Ackerman was a retired farmer.
He was born Nov. 14, 1909 at Liberty, Neb., the son of Fred and Sadie Lumm Ackerman.
He was a member of the Christian Church and Senior Citizens Million Aiders, both at Vermillion.

He was married to Mary Montague. She died in 1983. He later was married to Evelyn Goebel Barber. She survives. A daughter, Mrs. Pauline White, died in 1978.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fay Downie, Marysville; two sons, Delbert Ackerman and Leo Ackerman, both of Holton; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Rose, Humboldt, Neb.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Irene Renshaw, Dalhart, Texas; two stepsons, Harold Barber, Garden City and Ralph Barber, Chesapeake Bay, W. Va.; 15 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Christian Church at Vermillion. Burial will be in Vermillion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Hayes Funeral Home, Centralia.
