He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving during World War II and was a retired carpenter.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy John Parrish.
Funeral services were March 26 at 2 p.m. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Ward officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Shell, Jimmy Jones, Henry McFarland, James Bagwell, Chad Graham and Leo Granados.
