A Pioneer Has Gone. Oscar Burd was born in Fairbury, Illinois, July 19th, 1857, and passed away at the home of his son near Trenton, Nebraska, June 2nd, 1916. He was called to his maker, after a brief illness. Aged 59 years, 11 months and 14 days. He was united to Miss Ellen Schofield at Aften, Iowa, September 27th, 1881. To this union were born four children; three boys and one girl, all of them living and all were present at the time of his passing away. Two years after his marriage he took up a homestead, and located on the spot where Trenton is today. Although absent for a short time on account of health the family always has made Trenton their home and he has made many friends while he sojourned here below.
