Our Beloved Mother: Erminda G. Aguilar, 84, of Las Cruces, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday May 18, 2011. She was born Aug. 23, 1926 in Rincon, NM to Federico and Petra Herrera Garcia. She retired from Memorial Medical Center with more than 25 years of faithful service. Erminda enjoyed going to the casinos, having yard sales, creating her own arts and crafts but her passion was for her family. She was a woman of extraordinary strength, loving character and a witty sense of humor – she will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her three sons: Richard and Ramon Aguilar and Michael Najera; five daughters Maria Inez Arrellin /husband Joe, Lupe Saenz /husband Willie, Erminda Ferrales, Teresa Alvarez /husband Henry, and Bertha Estrada /husband Roberto; brothers Ramon Garcia and wife Manuela and Fred Garcia and wife Marie; sister Dora Molina /husband David. Erminda is also survived by her 27 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her son Johnny Aguilar; daughter Petrita Aguilar and two brothers Manuel and Adolfo Garcia. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday May 22, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. Her funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at 10 am on Monday May 23, 2011 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Don Adamsky officiating. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Richard, Ramon and Mark Aguilar, Michael Najera, Phillip Arrellin and Henry Alvarez Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ramon Jr., Joe, Moses, Richard, and Joshua Aguilar, Jerry and Zachary Potts, Bryan Goodman, Christopher and Mark Marquez, Henry, Isaac, and Andrew Alvarez, Willie, Tony, Ruben, Lawrence, Jacob Saenz and Lil Lawrence, Roberto F.
