Nathaniel Jr. was the son of Esther Thrasher and Nathaniel Sprout Sr. He married Azubah Cummings at the home of the Church of Christ minister Rev. Robert Cutler on 28 Dec 1775 in Greenwich MA. They were both residents of Hardwick at the time of their marriage. Greenwich and Hardwick were a hair's breadth apart.

Nathaniel Jr. was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. His father, Nathaniel Sr., fought in the French and Indian War. Nathaniel Jr. enlisted in Hardwick MA on 4-19-1775 and served in Dorchester and Boston until 12-31-1775, commanded by Col Fellows. He reenlisted in 1780 and served six months.

Nathaniel Jr. and Azubah lived in Hardwick for about 20 years after they married, then they moved to Attica NY.

Their known children were:

Esther, married Solomon Kingsley.

Nathaniel III, married Phebe Eastman.

Amos, married a woman whose name was not recorded, but I am now very sure it was Sarah "Sally" Riddle; he died in March 1813 in Batavia NY.

Azuba, married Jacob Howe.

Levi, married Frances "Fanny" Leonard.

Hosea B., married (1) Saloma Stanhope, and (2) Amanda Morse with whom he had his known children, John "Henry," Amanda A[zuba], and Emmaus B Sprout. Amanda Morse's given name was likely Sarah (per NY Surrogate Court records), but she was called Amanda according to Judge John Henry Sprout's death record.

Susanna, b. 28 Jun 1792, married Martin Townsend.

Nathaniel may be buried in plot 56 per an Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots.
