Margery Rae Wolfe Beauman passed away quietly on November 29, 2001 in Wimberley, Texas after a long illness. Margery was born in Houston, Texas on September 23, 1924, the daughter of Goldie Rae Baker and Reese Allen Wolfe. She graduated from Kincaid High School and attended Southern Methodist University and the University of Houston. In 1945, she married Benjamin Franklin Beauman. Ben was a retired Lt. Colonel in the Air Force when he died in 1982. Margery and Ben lived and worked in Houston most of their lives, moving to Austin in early 1982. After Ben's retirement they traveled the world.
Margery is survived by her sister, Helen Lucille Wolfe McHenry of Houston. She is also survived by her daughter, Sue Beauman Murphy and her husband, John Hulen Murphy, as well as her granddaughter, Erin Lynn Murphy Matthews and her husband, Marcus Grant Matthews, all of Austin.
Margery was buried next to her husband Ben in a family graveside ceremony on Saturday, December 1, at Capital Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged in Margery's name to the Alzheimer's Association of Austin, 3420 Executive Center Dr., Suite 301, Austin 78731.
