Funeral services for Mrs H E Bacon were held Saturday afternoon at the Congregational Church in Clemons with Rev George Biersborn of Liscomb in charge. Burial was in Bivens Grove Cemetery two miles north of Clemons.

Mrs Bacon died last Thursday evening at the home of her son, N J Bacon. She had been in poor health for several weeks and death was due to complications of age.

Mrs Bacon was the daughter of John and Bethany Oakes Benner and was born in Lycomink county, Pennsylvania January 3, 1851. When she was a small girl her family moved to White Rock, Illinois and she came to Iowa as a young woman to live in the St Anthony neighborhood.

She was married to Harris Elroy Bacon September 17, 1872. Most of their married life was spent in Marshall County. Mr Bacon died August 18, 1934. During the last seven years Mrs Bacon has lived at the home of her son.

Three children preceded her in death and she is survived by three sons and one daughter, Roy and John Bacon of Clemons, Frank Bacon of Spring Valley, Minnesota and Mrs C L Winslow of Caldwell, Idaho. There are 28 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs Mattie Beeis of Corwith.

Mr. Bacon was married in 1872 to Kate Benner, who was born in Pennsylvania, but came to the state of Illinois when a young girl, thence to Iowa, about 1868, and here met and married Mr. Bacon. This union has resulted in the birth of six children, namely: J. Norma, B. Frank, H. E. Jr., Cora, Wendell and Gladys. Mrs. Bacon and her daughters, Cora and Gladys, and son, B. Frank, are members of the Disciples church.
