CENCELENSKI'S BODY IS FOUND IN TAIWAN
The body of Airman 2C David R Cencelenski, 20, of Lydick, was found Wednesday submerged in a drainage ditch in Taiwan, according to word received from the War Department by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Cencelenski, Lake Shore Dr., Lydick.
Details of the death, which occurred Wednesday are not know. According to the telegram, the body was found entangled in the rope and planking of a bridge. The ditch had been flooded by heavy rains caused by typhoon Clara. The body was found by three Air Force men. An autopsy was to be preformed to determine the cause of death.
SOUTH BEND NATIVE
Cencelenski was born on May 4, 1947, in South Bend. He lived here until last July when he enlisted in the Air Force. He received his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, TX, and his technical training at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX. Last January he was assigned to Taiwan. He was a member of a troop squadron which carried supplies to Vietnam.
A member of St John's Catholic Church, he attended New Carlisle High School (graduated in 1965). He recently wrote his parents that he had planned to make a career of the service.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Dianna Marie, at home and his material grandparents,, Mr. & Mrs. John C Grabarz of South Bend.
Funeral arrangements will be announced when the body is returned to South Bend.
