Joe Yakubek, 75, 917 W. Park Ave., died Tuesday.

Mr. Yakubek was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Columbus, the son of Philip and Amelia Kovacivis Yakubek.

A resident here since 1945, coming from Salem, he had worked 17 years at Aetna Standard Corp, Warren, retiring in 1984 from General Electric Mahoning Glass Plant after after 17 years service.

Mr. Yakubek was an Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Niles VFW Post.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet Damon Yakubek, whom he married Sept. 19, 1945; two sons, Ashley J. of Warren and Gregory of Austintown; three daughters, Mrs. David (Amy) Politsky of Howland, Mrs. Clair (Cathie) Grimes of Leavittsburg and Phyllis Yakubek of Niles; two brothers, John of Salem and Louis of Rowlett, Texas; five sisters, Mrs. Rose Scullion, Mary Yakubek, Mrs. Katie Hunter and Mrs. Annie Davidson of Salem and Mrs. Jeannie Sampson of Diamond; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Nick, Mike and Steve, preceded him in death.
