BILOXI - Mrs. Lou Ella D. Burchfield, 74, died peacefully in her sleep March 18, 1999. She and Howard, her beloved husband of 50 years, owned and operated Burchfield's Flowers from 1955 to 1978.
In April of 1992, she retired from Keesler Air Force Base 3380th CES/DEHH Military Family Housing after working as the Housing Management Assistant.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; two sons, Steve and Tommy; daughter-in-law, Rachel; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Peter, and Abby.
She will be greatly missed by four brothers and two sisters, Jimmy Davis of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Rev. J.B. Davis of Lucedale, Mississippi; Carlie Davis of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Rev. Richard Davis of Agricola, Mississippi; Ida Belle Buckhalter of Mobile, Alabama; and Pauline Harris of Pasadena, Texas.
Visitation for friends will be Monday, March 22, 1999, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, Mississippi.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial in Southern Memorial park in Biloxi. Pastor Don Caywood of Odessa, Texas, will be officiating the memorial service along with Rev. Tommy Burchfield of Columbus, Texas; Rev. J.B. David of Lucedale, Mississippi; Rev. Richard Davis of Agricola, Mississippi; Pastor Eddie Trice of Levelland, Texas; and Pastor Del Way of Kerrville, Texas.
Lou Ella will most be remembered for her great devotion to God and was greatly loved as a Sunday School teacher. Her endless love for her family will remain a constant source of strength.
