Daughter of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Dale Evans wrote about the life and death of Robin Rogers, in a book entitled, "Angel Unaware."By Anonymous::: When I was very young I borrowed a book from my Mum. She was not only surprised that I had borrowed it but also that I had loved reading it so much. Even at that young age I knew it was something special, I thought it was just beautiful. Now I am a Mum myself with a grown up son and daughter. My daughter has also read this book, and she too was very touched by its charm. Even now, that same book continues to charm people and raise still much needed awareness of Down Syndrome.

The book was "Angel Unaware" by Dale Evans Rogers. It tells the true story of her little girl, Robin Elizabeth who was born with Down Syndrome. Sadly Robin had the added complications of a congenital heart defect.

Robin was born at a time when babies with Down Syndrome were taken from their families and placed in homes. The doctor caring for Robin didn't tell her parents to do this, instead he told Dale and Roy to "take her home and love her" and advised them that love would help her more than all the hospitals and medical science in the world.

Dale and Roy were told that Robin wouldn't live very long, but she proved herself to be a little fighter. However, she went on to get the mumps which developed into mumps encephalitis which was just too much for her little body to take. Sadly she passed away shortly before her second birthday.
