Mrs. Nancy Godfrey, an old resident of Garrison, died in Lincoln Tuesday, Oct. 9, aged 86 years, 1 month and 26 days. The funeral of Mrs. Cook was held in the Garrison Methodist church on Friday, Oct 12. Interment was in the Garrison cemetery. Mrs. Cook was born in Pickaway county, Ohio, August 13, 1831. She was married to Richard J. Cook January 4, 1852. Twelve children, eight sons and four daughters, were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cook. Mr. Cook and four sons preceded Mrs. Cook to the Great Beyond. The children surviving her are Rufus B. Cook of Peoria, Ill, Charles M. Cook of Douglas, Wyo., C. D. Cook of Lincoln, T.M. Cook of Arcadia, Mrs. Mary E. Henderson of Osceola, Mrs. Harriet Curry of David City, Mrs. Belle Beeson of Cedar Edge, Col., and Mrs. Hetty Rogers of Lincoln. In attendance at the funeral from a distance were R.B. Cook and son, Jack, from Peoria, Ill., Charles Cook from Douglas, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Cook and two children and Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Rogers from Lincoln.
