Ermadene "Erma" Hosick, 84, of Vienna, formerly of Carmi, passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna.

She was born July 12, 1926 in Norris City, the daughter of Charles Edgar and Sarah Helen (Hill) York. She had worked for Sweetheart Cup and The Carmi Times.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Patricia and James Thornton of Buncombe, Carolyn Sue and Fidel Mata of Chicago, and Christine and Wilgus Turner of Austin, Ind.; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward Thomas "Pete" and Cathy Hosick of Crossville; a sister, Charlene Tait of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Carolyn York of Carmi; 13 grandchildren, Dawn Mitchell, Graciela, Susana, Veronica and Jessica Lopez, Fidel Jr., Jose and Andrea Mata, Sean, Shane and Nathan Cozart, Jeanette Archer and Joshua L.T. Hosick; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Francisco Mata; two sisters, Zoola Lawery and Imogene York; and a brother, Edward York.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Norris City.
