Lawrence Schady emigrated from Glogon, Trovi, Austria (now Glogonj Serbia) in 1907 with his wife, Cecelia Magysrov Schady, who is also buried here in Woodlawn. Their children were William (buried in
Saint Raymond's Cemetery), Joseph, Frank, and Theresa Jacobsen (all buried in Woodlawn). Lawrence repaired wagon wheels in the Old Country. He and his three sons founded the last wheelright shop in Manhattan, located on E 68th St, where they repaired the spoked wheels for the Model A and T cars in the early 20th century. William maintained Schady Auto Wheel Company until his own death. Lawrence was my great grandfather; his son William was my grandfather.~ Stephanie Van Sickel Haney
