Buna Valentine started teaching school at Harmony school at Stephens County, Texas in 1899. Her father, Silas Mercer Valentine farmed in the Bee Branch area and was school trustee from 1900-1907. The Bee Branch school closed in 1924 and was consolidated with Cedar and Oak Grove common schools in 1928.
Mrs. Buna Sullivan married H.W. Harris on 27 December 1910 at Tye, Texas. She was a widow and he was a widower at the time of their marriage.
Mrs. Harris was a school teacher when the couple met at Tye. The couple moved to Stephens County where Mr. Harris had lived since 1894. In 1937, the couple moved to Comanche County, Texas where they farmed until moving to Comanche in 1948.
Survived by her husband; two sons - Joe Leslie Harris and Lewis L. Harris; two grandchildren.
Mrs. Harris was a member of the Baptist Church.
