He was born in the Netherlands on January 28th, 1833. In the year 1877 he came to the United States coming to Sioux county that same year. Mr. Beltman had been married three times. His first wife died in the Netherlands. His second wife died in 1902 and he was married to Mrs. D.J. Scholten at Alton, Iowa on April 29th, 1904. Deceased was a well-to-do retired farmer, a good citizen, kind friend and neighbor, and a devout Christian.
The funeral services were held from the First Reformed Church this Friday and were conducted by Rev. J.P. De Jong.
Interment was made in Nassau Township Cemetery. Deceased is survived by his widow and two children, J.H. Beltman and Mrs. Wm. Guerink, both of Alton.
