"CHRISTINA ELISABETHA FUSSIN, to give her full name with the Germanic feminine ending, was more often called Christina Fuss; she was born here (in Pennsylvania) about 1735."

"Christina Elisabeth Fuss, aged 17 confirmed March 29, 1752 at New Hanover Lutheran church. Christina Fussin, daughter of Johan Nicholas, married October 25, 1853 at New Haven to Johannes Klinger, born Odenwald."

"Johannes Klinger's name was later anglicized to JOHN CLINGER. He emmigrated Sept. 1749 on the ship "Albany" carrying foreigners. He soon settled in Pikeland Twp., Chester County, Pa., was taxed there after 1760, as first as an inmate. In 1764 he was taxed on 20 acres, buildings and mill, 1 horse and 1 cow."

"Her (Christina) gravestone in St. Peters Churchyard reads, "CHRISTINA KLINER - 1762".

"She was the mother of PHILIP, b: 1753; and of ELISABETHA, b: 1760 (birth place at New Hanover at Zions Resp.) The next known children, DOROTHY and CATHERIN, were born by 1763, so probably also had Fuss blood."

Added Note: The death date that was provided by the original creator of this memorial was January 25, 1762, it is unknown where or how this date was obtained.

Note from Sharon Neiman Kleinstuber:

I have a copy of the full article on the Foos Family [think it is available on ancestry]. Although this article appears to be very well researched, there might still be errors. I know it says Christina died in 1762, but as I mentioned, that can not be correct. She can't have died in 1762 if she was alive in 1764 & 1765.

Her death year is 1765 or 1766. She was a baptism sponsor in 1764 & had a child in Jan 1765 - both recorded in the records of Zion Lutheran Church. Her husband, John Klinger/Clinger, remarried Margaret (unk) & they had their first child baptized in Feb 1768 at Zion Lutheran.

Added Note: The Odenwald is a low mountain range in the German states of Hesse, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
