Death came suddenly, almost unexpected and unannounced, and is ascribed to heart failure. The funeral was held at the residence on Thursday, the sermon being preached by Rev. J. F. Bacon of the Congregational church, and was attended by a large number of friends and neighbors, the funeral cortege to the Neligh cemetery for the interment being upwards of one half mile in length.
Miss Jennie Bellar was born in Clinton, Iowa, September 12, 1968, and in 1885 with her parents, removed to Antelope County. March 23, 1891 she was married to Mr. Allen, and day following the funeral would have completed 7 years of married life. Besides the infant child which survives, the family now consists of the husband and three small children, the sympathy for whom is universal and real, and not of a perfunctionary character.
This obituary was published in the Neligh (Nebraska) Leader. The cause of death was childbirth complications.
