Jane Ellen Allen
Jane Ellen Jones was born at Irving, Kansas, Marshall County, Kansas, January 20, 1893 and moved with her parents to Haddam that spring. She grew to womanhood on the farm south of Haddam, and was united in marriage on August 11, 1912 to Clarence Allen. To this union were born four children: Gerald LeRoy, Clifton, Kansas; Marjorie Violet Roberts, Manhattan, Kansas; Viola May Hiatt, Narka, Kans.; Kenneth Duane of the home.
She was called to her final rest on June 19, 1947, at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska.
Mrs. Allen was a devoted wife and mother, and besides her husband and children and two grandchildren, Barbara Kay and Joyce Anne Roberts, is survived by her mother, Mrs. John H. Jones of Haddam, three brothers, Russell C. of Kansas City and Washington D.C.; Will J. of Stafford, Kansas and Arnold R. of Manhattan and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Gronquist of Alma, Kansas.
She was baptized in infancy into the Methodist church.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Haddam Methodist church by Rev. Nina E. Anderson. Interment was made in the Haddam Cemetery.
