SNOW CREEK-- Haseltine Haynes Byrd, 89, of Snow Creek, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at her home.
She retired after 37 years of working at Sale Knitting and Tultex in Martinsville.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1910, to the late Walter and Annye Cooper Haynes. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Gordon Byrd; a sister, Evelyn Perdue; and four brothers, Irvin, Glynwood, Melvin and Buford Haynes.
Surviving are a daughter, Shelby Maas, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. No addresses were given.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Snow Creek Christian Church. The Revs. Berlin Hanks and Jim Compton will officiate. Burial will follow in Snow Creek Memorial Gardens.
The body will be placed in Snow Creek Christian Church this afternoon where friends may call after 5 p.m. The family will be at the church from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today to receive friends.
Memorials may be made to the Snow Creek Rescue Squad or Snow Creek Christian Church.
