Mrs. Connell was born in Reidsville, GA on December 4, 1949, daughter of the late Eugene Harold Dasher and Miriam Lamb Dasher. She was raised in the Glennville area and graduated from Valdosta State College in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, and received her Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education in 1976 from the University of Mississippi. Mrs. Connell was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rome, and was employed with the Rome City School System from 1976 until January of 2003.
Survivors: husband, Robert H. Connell, to whom she was married on July 8, 1972; one daughter, Lindsay Kay Connell of Rome; her mother, Miriam Lamb Dasher; one brother, Hal Dasher of Glennville; two sisters, Melba Dasher of Savannah and Sandra Howard of Ludowici, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services: were held 11:00 a.m. Friday, in the First United Methodist Church of Rome with the Rev. Mark Sargent officiating.
Burial Services: Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Rome.
Remembrances: Kay Connell Memorial Fund, c/o West End Elementary School, 5 Brown Fox Drive, Rome, GA 30165.
