BAILEY, ENOS FIELDER, JR. "JAKE"

Manager of governmental relations with Louisiana Gas Service Co. and a resident of Loranger, he died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 63 and a native of Hammond.

Visitation at Woodland Park Baptist Church, Hammond, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Visitation at the church from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Interment in Carter Cemetery, Springfield.

Survived by his wife, Sandra Hughes Bailey, Loranger, a daughter, Rachel Blythe Bailey Robbins,
Hammond; two sons, Douglas Glynn Bailey, Ocean Springs, Miss., and Timothy Marshall Bailey, Ponchatoula; a sister, Virginia Bailey Rogers, Natalbany; a half-sister, Effie Hutchinson, Springfield; and five grandchildren, Christian Douglas Bailey, Victoria Belle Bailey, William Cail Robbins V, Lauren Dana Robbins and Hunter Marshall Bailey.

Preceded in death by his parents, Enos Fielder Sr. and Rachel Barnum Bailey.

He was a member of Tangipahoa Parish School Board for 28 years, having served two terms as
president.

He was an annual radio celebrity for TARC.

He was a member of Lee Valley Baptist Church, having served on the music team, and was a member of Gideons International and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was a former referee with Louisiana High School Athletic Association. He was a member of Hammond Chamber of Commerce, National Parent-Teacher Association, former president of Hammond High School Booster Club, a past member of Louisiana Gas Association and a member of Association of Louisiana Lobbyists.

He formerly served as deacon at Woodland Park Baptist Church and Natalbany Baptist Church.
He was a Republican Party representative.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Southeastern Louisiana University Development Foundation, SLU 10293, Hammond, LA 70402, or Gideon Memorial Bibles.
