Clarence was born in Ashmore, Digby, Nova Scotia, the son of Joseph Albert Kinney and Kate Sabean Kinney. Clarence came to Massachusetts a few years after his first wife Edith Pearl Letteney, died in Nova Scotia in 1923. Clarence then married Edra May Prime in Waltham, Massachusetts. Clarence married, a third time after Edra died, Bessie Gontrum., Clarence is buried with Edra, on the other side of the stone is Edra's sister Mildred & her husband Arthur Davidson.
