Sherman Charles Kyles was born on June 5, 1923 and entered into eternal rest on August 7, 2009.

Sherman was a devoted husband, father, step-father, and "Paw Paw". Sherman was an Officer's Cook for The United States Army Air Force and was a Pressman for several newspapers in the state. He worked for many years and was retired from the Houston Post.

Sherman was preceded in death by his parents, R W and Rachel Kyles,wife of 42 years,Lucille Kyles and sons, Jimmy Charles Kyles and Lynn Kyles.

Sherman is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Joyce Bowden-Kyles, daughter and son-in law Patricia and Joe Scanlin, step-daughters and stepsons-in-law Mary Ann and Paul Cluxton, and Barbara and David Hendricks. Sherman had twelve grandchildren: Gina, Frank, Joseph, Angela, Sherman, Debbie, Jimmy, Natalie, Holly, Todd, Casey, Benjamin, Janica, and Brandon, and "honorary" grandson, Tor. He is also survived by 15 great-grandsons and 9 great-granddaughters.

Services will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 10:30 am, interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening, August 11, 2009 at the funeral home.
