M'LANE FUNERAL HELD Large Group Of Friends Pay Respects To Deceased Official The funeral services for Fletcher Wilson McLane, 45, well known county official who died Friday, were held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Methodist church. A large group of friends assembled to pay tribute to the popular clerk of the circuit court, who Succumbed to an attack of pneumonia after a week's illness. Rev. O. K. Lamb, pastor, officiated, assisted by Dr. R. T. Tyler of Roanoke, former pastor of the church. The choir sang appropriate hymns, accompanied by Mrs. A. G. McMillan at the organ. Interment took place in Oak Hill: cemetery, Jackson Sr. Clardy . directing. The active pall bearers were Alonzo Abrams, Harrell T. Vance. Arthur L. Albright, P. L. Howard, W. M. Rozelle and Henry H. Thornton. The board of stewards and the Men's Bible class of the church, Judge R. B. Can- Judge Lamar Field and J. W. Remson served as honorary pall bearers. Mr. McLane was a member of the board and the class and also served as chairman of the house committee of the church. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Miss Helen Mae McLane, Miss Jessie Maude McLane, Emelyn McLane: two sons, Fletcher, Jr., and Billy Mc Lane; his father J. L. McLane; one sister, Mrs. A. H. Greene of Steadman, N. C, and two brothers, O. J. and J. L., McLane, Jr, of Atlanta.
