David Joe Beckner

David Joe Beckner, 64, of Point Pleasant died Tuesday, April 19, 1994 at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington after a short illness.

He was a retired employee of Ravenswood Aluminum Corporation (Kaiser); a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; a member of the Brickmason Union 32 and the United Steel Workers Local 5668; and a member of the American Legion, Mason County Post 23.

Born August 4, 1929 in Henderson, he was a son of the late Corbert and Ethel (Henry) Beckner. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Russell Beckner.

He is survived by his wife, Opal (Hughes) Beckner; two sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel L. and Donna Beckner of Point Pleasant and David J. Beckner, Jr. of Crystal River, FL; a daughter and son-in-law, Kinzel and Keith Banks of Hilliard, Ohio; a granddaughter, Lindsey M. Hope; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank H. and Delores Beckner and Thomas L. and Mary Beckner, all of Point Pleasant; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Louis A. Hussell and Rev. William "Bill" Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens where military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion, Mason County Post 23.

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
