Miss Gertrude Jauernick of 140-12 171st, Springfield Gardens, (NY) was married to Alfred Peschke of Manhattan by Rev. J. Sinclair Bousum at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Springfield Gardens.
The bride wore a white satin gown with a train, a tulle veil trimmed with white lace, and carried white chrysanthemums. The maid of honor, Miss Newman, cousin of the bride, wore a white silk gown trimmed with black fur and carried pink chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids were Mrs M. Jauernick, sister-in-law of the bride, who wore a pink gown trimmed with silver, and Miss Edna Sheinert, who wore a blue satin gown. Both carried yellow chrysanthemums.
The best man was Rheinhold Peschke, brother of the groom.
The reception followed at the home of the bride's brother, Martin Jauernick, at 140-12 171st Street, Springfield Gardens.
The couple will reside in the Bronx.

ALFRED PESCHKE, DIES
Alfred Peschke, aged 54, died on
Monday morning at St.Clare’s hospital
in New York City, where he
had undergone surgery about two
weeks ago. Mr. Peschke was a retired
New York City butcher who
came to Sullivan nine years ago and
bought the Ed Hahn place at Callicoon
Center. During the summer
season he supplied many summer
hotels and institutions, in Sullivan
County with their meat through the
Cunningham Wholesale Meat Company
of New York City.’
Mr. Peschke was born in Germany
and learned the butcher trade
there before coming to America. He
took employment with the A and P
Company and advanced to become
manager of a store. He resigned to
open a butcher shop of his own. His
success encouraged him to expand
and he had four stores when he retired.
During World War I he was
a soldier in the German Army and
was taken prisoner by the Americans.
After the war he emigrated
to America to find success here. He
had a wide acquaintance in Sullivan
County.
The body was brought to the
Kelly-Stewart Funeral Home where
the funeral services will be held today
at 2 p. m. with Rev. Stephen
W. Ryder officiating. Burial will be
in the Callicoon cemetery./’
He is survived by his wife and
one brother, Reinhold Peschke, who
is a baker in the city.
