John Metzger Corley died at his home on Dry Ridge on Friday evening, December the 15th, after a lingering illness. He was a son of Jacob and Sarah Metzger Corley, deceased. He was aged 71 years, 10 months and 10 days.
He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Maria Mowry and the following children: Mary, wife of Harvey Brant, of Greensburg; Sarah, wife of Samuel Adams of Duquesne; William, of Boynton; Peter, of Boswell; Anna, wife of Emory May, and Jacob of Dry Ridge, and Henrietta, Lucinda and John at home. Hie is also survived by two sisters: Mrs. Solomon Diehl, of this place, and Mrs. Ellen Hext, of Cumberland, and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Trinity Reformed church, Dry Ridge, of which he was a member. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.
