In the 1930's they moved to Texas where he worked for awhile. Then he was drafted into the Army.

He was a member and deacon of the Free Will Baptist Church of Non, where he taught the Adult SS class for over 30 years.
Retired from Tinker AFB in Okahoma City. He raised his family at Non and south of Calvin on Hwy 75, where he had a large acreage and raised cattle. He liked to fish and would occasionally hunt a wild hog.
