Emory S. Bird, age 54 years, 11 months and 15 days, of Markleysburg, Pa., died in the Uniontown Hospital, Monday, October 16, 1967. He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma Pearl, and son John. He was the son of the late Walter and Rhodie Savage Bird. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Jean Bowers of Markleysburg; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Arley, of Clairton, Pa., Palmer of Markleysburg, and Edgar of Morgantown, W.Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Nellie) Harris of Farmington, Mrs. Carlus (Rose) Moyers, Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Mrs. Alex (Jean) Sekete of Cleveland, Ohio. Friends will be received in the Williams Funeral Home, Markleysburg, after 7 p.m. this evening and until noon Thursday, and in the Union Chapel Church from 1 until 2 p.m., the hour of service with Rev. John A. Asch and Rev. Dwight Aldinger officiating. Interment in the Bird Cemetery, Flat Rock Road, Markleysburg. [unknown source]
