Nora Mona "Christena" Hugill, 87, died April 28, 1999, at her Klamath Falls, Oregon residence of congestive heart failure.

She was born to Andrew and Mary (Scott) Lancaster in Manilla, Arkansas. She attended school through the fifth grade, then traveled with her family by covered wagon to a homestead in California. She married Bill Kearbey in the early 1930s. After their divorce in 1948, she went to work as a seamstress on an assembly line, making men's shirts and trousers, which she did for eight years.

She married her second husband, Robert Hugill, in 1949.

In 1966, Mrs. Hugill went to work as a cook for the Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport, CA and retired 15 years later.

Following the death of her second husband, she joined her brother and his wife on Evangelistic tours for the Assemblies of God, playing the guitar and singing with them, intermittently, for about 10 years.

She moved to the Modoc County area in 1976 to help care for her father and, after his death, moved to Redding, CA.

In 1992, she moved back to Lakeport, where she enjoyed visiting the convalescent hospitals and developing religious serves at them.

Mrs. Hugill moved to Klamath Falls in 1996 to be with her daughter, Gloria.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, all kinds of crafts and especially repairing and refurbishing old dolls, making new clothes for them and fixing their hair. She also liked plants, particularly indoor plants and carnations, and to oil paint sceneries and flowers.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Seth Hartman, Klamath Falls; daughter, Thelma Kiestler of Kesleyville, CA; daughter-in-law, Viola Kearbey of Des Moines, IA; brother, The Rev. Mack and Maxine Lancaster of Likely, CA; Carl and Bernice Lancaster of Santa Rosa, CA, and Doyle and Gladys Lancaster of Eureka, CA; sisters, Alice Thorne of Likely, and Lavone Gwartney of Palm Desert, CA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hugill, brothers, Lester and L.C. Lancaster, and sister, Donna Schoate, and son Virgle Kearbey.
