Richard D. Adams 50, Bartlett, a former Lanark resident, died suddenly Monday morning of a heart attack at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.

Mr. Adams was born Feb. 1, 1931 in Lanark, the son of Donald and Lucille Stoner Adams. He was united in marriage to Mary Smith on March 21, 1951 in Galena. He was employed as an industrial engineer in the manager department in the Flexonic Factory in Bartlett. He was a member of the Lanark Church of the Brethren and was a 1949 graduate of Lanark High School.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Julyann) Miller of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Anthony (Tammy) Wright of Elgin; three grandchildren; his parents of Lanark and one sister, Mrs. Ned (Donnalee) Nesemeier of Lexington, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Frank Funeral Home, Lanark with the Pastor Donald Roberts of the Lanark Church of the Brethren, officiating. Burial will be in the Lanark Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. in the Bartwood Memorial Funeral Home, located on U.S. 20 in Bartlett. Visitation will be after noon Wednesday at the Frank Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in his memory.
