Born April 2, 1944, in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Carroll E. Utz and Evelyn E. (Weidner) Utz Altland.

She was also an avid collector of Longaberger Baskets for the past 15 years and was a charter member of the Longaberger Collector's Club. She attended many shows and especially had fun taking trips to their corporate headquarters in Dresden, Ohio winning many baskets over the years.

Other favorite pastimes for Carolyn included oil painting, making "stampin' up" greeting cards and crafts with her own jigsaw, gardening and taking care of her family pool. She also loved to go to various casinos around the country and playing the slot machines.

Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved spending time with her family and was very proud of all of them.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Wesley W. Arentz and wife Sherie of Needmore, Shelly C. Swope of East Berlin, Travis C. Arentz and wife Jodi of Mt. Wolf, and Brock B.
