Gladys Marie Morris, the daughter of Andrew and Karen (Jensen) Lofgren was born January 20,1910 in Cameron, Wisconsin. She died on Monday, March 2, 1998 after an extended illness at the Good Samaritan Center, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 88 years, one month and ten days.
She was raised in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School. She was united in marriage to Clarence Fetrow and he died in November of 1947. Gladys and Clarence lived in Stanton, Villisca, and Griswold. She then married Berl Morris on September 14, 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska. Gladys and Berl lived in Henderson community until 1961 when they moved to Emerson. She helped Berl in the family business, Emerson Farm Supply. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Emerson, Federated Women's Club and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, brother Theodore Lofgren and a sister Lucille Parris. Gladys is survived by her husband Berl Morris of Emerson, Iowa; step-daughters Judy Hunt and her husband Larry of Emerson, Iowa and Marlene Colerick and her husband Steve of Emerson, Iowa, four grandchildren, Brenda Black, Timothy Hunt, Rob and Ryan Colerick; a brother, Ogden Lofgren of Red Oak, Iowa. Also by other relatives and friends.

Thursday, March 5, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Emerson, Iowa. Burial was in the Mamre Cemetery at Stanton, Iowa with Rev. Burl Ratzsch officiating.
