Betty Wheeler Pearson, 76, Canton, formerly of Baldwin, Michigan died Monday, May 27, 2002, at the Lewis County Nursing Home, Canton. Born January 23, 1926 at Derrahs, the daughter of Wm. P "Bill" Wheeler and Mary Belle "Mabel" Powell Wheeler. She married John Pearson, who died September 6, 2001. Mrs. Pearson had worked as a nurses aide at a Keokuk hospital, as a hostess at a country club in Michigan and worked for General Motors auto factory. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include one brother, Marion Wheeler and wife Roberta, Sidney, Mich; two sisters, Mary Annabel Furlong and husband Ed, Hamilton, Ill; Thelma Feldkamp and husband Henry, Canton; nieces; nephews; two sisters-in-law, Isabel Wheeler, Marion, Indiana and Dorothy Wheeler, Edina. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Rebecca Robertson on March 8, 1997; two brothers, Robert and Roy "Shorty" Wheeler. Funeral services are scheduled to be held Friday, May 31, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan, with Rev. David Adams officiating.
