MAYFIELD — Mary "Thelma Lou" Lucas, 90, of Mayfield died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday at Paducah Care and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.
She was a member of New Vision Baptist Church. She was a retired clerk at Wal-Mart and was formerly employed at the Mayfield Messenger advertising and sales department. She wrote the "Cooking With Thelma Lou" cooking and recipe section in the Mayfield Messenger.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Wade of Bonita Springs, Fla.; one son, Robert "Bobby" Wade of Phoenix; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Lucas, and four brothers. Her parents were John B. and Sara Sabina Hayden Hyland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Rev. Chad Frizzell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
