Charles W. Harris Jr., 99, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Charles was born Oct. 25, 1911, in Brownsville to Charles Waller and Minnie Elizabeth Harris. Charles was a hardworking husband and father of three daughters. His career spanned over 40 years as co-manager of the feed mill at Burris Feed Mill in Fort Worth. Charles was a proud 70-plus-year member of the Freemasons of Tarrant Lodge 942 AF&AM and of the Elks Lodge for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting and relaxing at his "Hideaway" in Wise County. He was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers, Cowboys and Texas A&M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret.
Survivors: Daughters, Martha Beth Porter and husband, Vernon, Mary Helen Krachala and husband, Emmett, and Suzanne Cook and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Kelvin Porter and wife, Hui, Penny Eudy and husband, Mark, Cindy Farr and husband, Timothy, Charles Frank Krachala and wife, Traci, and Guy Cook and wife, Tanisha; and seven great-grandchildren.
