Mrs. Martha Alabran, Smicksburg R.D., Dead
Mrs. Martha Cochran Alabran, of near Smicksburg, died in her home Sunday afternoon after a 3-day illness in the 68th year of her age.
The deceased was born June 14, 1878, in Canoe township, Indiana county, a daughter of Matthew and Margaret (Pifer) Cochran, and was united in marriage August 2, 1898, to William I. Alabran, deceased.
She was a member of the United Evangilical Church in Smicksburg and was held in high esteem in that vicinity where she had lived for the past 27 years.
The following daughters and sons survive: Mrs. Olive Walker, of Marion Ceneter; Fulbert Alabran, of Greenville; Mrs. Helen Bahme, of Rural Valley; Frank, William and Wayne Alabran, of near Smicksburg. Two sisters and one brother also survive; Mrs. Elizabeth Neil, of Altman; Mrs. Kathryn Bartholomew and Levi Cochran, of Juneau. Twenty-three grandchildren, three in the armed forces, are living.
Funeral services will be held in the home Wednesday afternoon beginning at 2:30 o'clock with interment in the Marchand cemetery.
