Zella was born to Wasker Rome and Willie Lee Ross in Addilee, Oklahoma on November 28, 1921. She married Guy Marion Shipley on September 8, 1938 and they moved to Texas in 1942. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers: J.W., Jerry, Eugene, Darrell and Dale. Those she left to cherish her memory include a son: Marion Lowell Shipley and wife Kadon, daughter: Sharon Massey, grandchildren: Ann Brown and husband Mike, Scott Shipley and wife Doris, Ross Shipley, Lisa Laurence and husband Matt, Melissa Stroud and husband Greg, great grandchildren: Dustin, Michael, Zachary, Darion, Braden, Aidean, Haley, Allison, Emily, Samantha, Abbie and Krystal, great-great grandchild: Jed Carter, brother: Sheridan Ross, sisters: Dene Cooper and husband Jake, Joann Luper and husband George, Carolene Barlow and husband Jerry, Corky Sylvester, many nieces, nephews and many, many friends in Texas and Oklahoma. Na-Naw will be missed by all. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Roberts Chapel – Westville with Bro. Ronnie Bradshaw and Bro. Jim Beaver officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
