Lelar Lois Byrd was born June 25, 1918 in Barren Co, Kentucky to Henry Byrd (1985-1961) and Emily Ethel Chapman (1882-1947). Lois, as she was known, married Garlon Clemens Goad on September 7, 1932. Together they had seven children: Jettie Mae Vandiver (1935- ), Maddline Asher (1939- ), Carnell Goad (1942-1997), Brenda Sue Coles (1945- ), Linda Lou Perry (1945- ), Carol Morris Goad (1947-1947), and Lola Ann Goad (1953-1953). Lois was preceded in death by two children (Carol and Lola). She passed away on August 16, 1983 in Columbus, Indiana.
