DAVENPORT - Florence D. Arp, 91, of Davenport, formally of Walcott, Iowa, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009, at the Kahl Home, Davenport. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 3, at 10 a.m. at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Sunday, August 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kahl Home or The Walcott Lion's Club.
Florence was born December 27, 1917, in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Olga M. (Paulsen) Siebke. She was united in marriage to Rudolph Arp Jr., on January 20, 1937, in Davenport. They farmed in the Walcott area, retiring in 1969, and then resided in Walcott. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She was a member of Walcott Senior Citizens. Florence was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved to play bingo.
Those left to honor her memory include children, Virgil (Donna) Arp, Riverdale, Iowa; Rudy (Marlene) Arp, Walcott; Ronald (Barbara) Arp, Lewisville, Texas; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elmer (Nelda) Siebke, Davenport; Donald (Elaine) Siebke, Aledo, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother.
