Beloved companion. Found wandering in my aunt's backyard. No one claimed her. She owned us for the rest of her life. As a youngster, she chewed everything in sight: markers, crayons, stuffed animals, books—anything left on the floor was hers. She even pulled your hat off your head if you sat on the carpet. If you played a board game, she would sit down in the middle of it. She barked if ever anyone walked in front of our house, and especially if that someone was leading a dog. She was a mix of border collie and beagle, with a beautiful black coat and white markings, but small, delicate paws.
