She was born in Texas to Juan and Eugenia Hernandez. She was raised in the Uvalde, Texas area and married Juan Flores in 1930, Mr. Flores died four years later. In 1935 she married Maximo Torres, after his death in 1945 she went to work as a farm laborer to provide for her family, after moving to Tempe, Arizona. Retiring in 1965, she lived with her son, and moved to Klamath Falls in 1991 to live with her daughter.
Her hobbies included her church, gardening, needlework and her dogs and cats.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Tomas and Andy Torres, Mesa, AZ; Maximo and Jackie Torres, Scottsdale, AZ; Antonia Canales, Tempe, AZ; daughters and son-in-law: Marie and Jose Torrez, Uvalde, TX; Alcarria "Claudia" Plemons, Klamath Falls; fifteen grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
