Mrs Otto (Mary) Lemke passed away on March 21, at a hospital in Houston, Texas. She had been in failing health for several years. She was eighty-three years of age.
She was born near Klemme on June 23, 1886. The daughter of John and Helena Bush. As a girl she attended the Klemme schools.
On Jan. 4, 1905 she was united in marriage to Otto W. Lemke, at the farm home of her parents. Together they commenced housekeeping on the J. J. Stille farm in Liberty Townsshhip. Three years later, they moved to the Will Beier farm. Here their two sons were born. After eight years, they bought a farm one mile west of Klemme, and lived for thirty years. When they retired and moved to their home in Klemme. Mr.Lemke died 1957.
In Nov. of 1964, Mrs Lemke went to vist her son Wayne in Houston, Texas and after being there a few days she suffered a stroke from which she never fully recovered. She spent the past years of her life in a hospital and nursing home.
Surviving is one son, Wayne Lemke, of Houston, Texas, and three grand children: Sharon Canning, Larry Lemke and Pamela Christiansen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Clarence, one sister, one brother and a half brother.
