Jewell Canada was born March 1, 1905 in Van Alstyne, Texas (Grayson County), daughter of Jesse Canada (1859-1940) and Audrey Georgia Veazy (1866-1962).

The 1910 Federal Census for Justice Precinct 4, Texas (Grayson County) shows Jewell Canada, age 5, born in Texas; living with her facter, Jesse Canada, a farmer, age 50, born in Alabama; and her mother, Georgia, age 42, born in Alabama. Also living in the household were Jewell's siblings: Sula Canada, a farm laborer, age 19; and Alma Canada, age 7; both born in Texas.

Jewell Lockhart departed this life May 15, 1989. She was born March 1, 1905 in Van Alstyne, Texas to Jesse and Georgia Canada. She spent her early life in Texas with her husband and farmed. Moved to Oklahoma City and worked for Walgreen Drug Company for 25 years. Her husband, Gordon Lockhart, preceded her in death in 1954, also preceded by a grandson, Gene Austin in 1969. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Elliott and husband, Lloyd Elliott; daughter, Lori Hansen of Ft. Worth; 3 grandsons, 3 great granddaughters, and 2 great grandsons. Graveside services 10am Wednesday, Rose Hill Burial Park.
