Aletha was a kind and generous person. She raised four children and helped to raise four of her grandsons. She enjoyed needlework, especially crocheting, and provided pretty things for others.
Her faith was important; she gave each grandchild a Bible of their own. Her family tradition was Primitive Baptist. The Lindseys would start a church whenever they settled where there was not one.
Aletha and Roy celebrated more than 50 years of marriage before her death. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Herbert, in 1947. She was survived by her husband, three children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
