Marcel M. "Babe" Rensing, 94, of Belleville, Ill., born Feb. 15, 1916, in New Baden, Ill., died on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at his daughter's residence in Medora, Ill.
Mr. Rensing was an accomplished craftsman who built over fifty homes in the Belleville area. He later owned and operated Voellinger Real Estate Company with his wife. He was a member of the Belleville Board of Realtors. Marcel was also a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Violet D., nee McDaniel, Rensing, whom he married on Feb. 15, 1936, at St. Peter's Cathedral in Belleville, Ill., and who died on Oct. 3, 2007; his parents, Henry H. and Elizabeth M., nee Heinzman, Rensing; a brother, Loraine B. Rensing; and a sister, Irene Joellenbeck.
Surviving are his two daughters, Elizabeth "Beth" Fanning (Mark Hellrung) of Medora, Ill., and Kathryn "Kathy" (Michael) Boide of Belleville, Ill.; ten grandchildren, Mike Fanning, Michelle Fanning, Christopher Kidwell, Angela Kidwell, Amanda Hunt, Tiffany (Michael) Reeser, Sarah (Paul) Simonson, Jason (Karen) Boide, Bryan Boide, and Breanna Hellrung; nine great-grandchildren, Jessica Violet Kidwell, Faith Autumn Fanning, Devon Hunt, Elizabeth Hunt, Alissa Johnson, Jacob Reeser, Brooke Boide, Bradley Simonson, and Lora May Simonson; and a sister, Florence Tylka of Belleville, Ill.
